The Industries sUrface1030 comes in three separate
components: Base, Cable Clip, and sUrface component.

Remove the components from the
packaging and ensure that all components are included. Lay base
flat with textured side down, engraved Industries text facing
up. Insert clip as shown below into one of the six placement
locations on the rubber base.

Place the sUrface component
securely into the rubber base. When inserted properly, the sUrface
should lay flat and be flush with the outer rubber edging of the
base.

While there are many ways to configure the mouse cable using the
Clip, these basic guidelines will ensure the cable of the
mouse sits properly in the clip:
1) With one hand firmly hold the cable approximately 2-3 inches
from where the cable emerges out from the mouse to ensure there is
no pressure you do not damage the connection while straightening
the cable.
2) With your index finger and thumb start nearest your other hands
position on the cable and straighten the cable by running your
fingers down the cable, lightly "stretching" and straightening it.
IMPORTANT - Pulling on your mouse cable can damage your
mouse if precautions are not taken to ensure that stress is not
placed on the connection between the cable and the mouse!
3) Briefly continue to carefully straighten the mouse cable so
that there are as few kinks as possible.
4) Place the mouse onto the sUrface1030 as you intend to use it
and create a small loop (approx. 3-4 inches in diameter) in the
cable at the top of the pad just in front of the rubber edging. If
the loop does not lay flat, try flipping your mouse 1 or two full
flips either clockwise or counter clockwise to get the cable to
rest flat on the desk.
Note: When making the loop, the portion of the cable
leading to the mouse should lay on top of the portion of the cable
leading to the computer.
5) Adjust the size of the 'loop' in the cable so the mouse can
move freely on the sUrface without cable interference.
